PETA – Making a Bag of Hammers Look Smart For 30 Years

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – in case you’ve been in a coma for the last 3 decades) have released a new ad against fur and animal products, featuring Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey.

Here’s the stupid part.

They used an image of Oprah from stock photography. And she’s wearing a leather skirt!

Of all the photos they could have chosen, they used this one. Of course, they could have used a pic of Oprah from 1984, from the Chicago Tribune, in a full fur coat.

The best part? This is not the first time that PETA has managed to have ads that are not “cruelty-free”, as their ad with Tai Babilonia was featured in an ad wearing leather ice-skates.

PETA is also one of the most hypocritcal groups around, as their record shows them putting down more animals than ever each year.

Also, their VP, MaryBeth Sweetland, a type 1 diabetic, uses insulin, made with animal products. Her defence? “I need my life to fight for the rights of animals”

So, for PETA, it’s a do as I say, not as I do situation.
