Nothing funny to post today.

A tornado is beleived to have hit Midland Wednesday night.

The suspected twister hit the central Ontario community around 6:30 p.m. ET, tearing down trees and bringing down power lines and lamp poles.

High winds ripped the roof off a Honda dealership and damaged several local stores, including the local water depot, one resident said.

Midland Mayor Jim Downer declared a state of emergency and says a “small army” of residents has been working to assist the roughly 200 people left homeless by the storm.

Local officials said at least eight people were taken to hospital with injuries, none of them critical.

Having been through the Barrie tornado 25 years ago, I can understand how the people of Midland feel.

Luckily, at this point, there has been no casualties.
