Well, They Would Know, Right?

I guess if you want to fight childhood obesity, you go talk to someone who knows what obesity is all about. What’s next – a discussion about the pros of the Hippocratic Oath with Dr. Death Jack Kevorkian? A discussion with Tiger Woods on fidelity? One with Michael Jordan on never gambling?

Rachael Ray, the peppy television cooking queen, met with Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Lansing, this afternoonto chat about child nutrition and obesity.

The stop at the Michigan senator’s office came on a tightly scheduled nutrition-themed tour of Capitol Hill, during which Ray — who rose to fame through heavy backing by TV mogul Oprah Winfrey — was slated to meet with other influential female lawmakers, including Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y.

A few things here.

1) Rachel Ray who herself has likely never been referred to as slim made it by being promoted by an obese woman (Oprah), works for the Food Network that both promotes eating and is staffed by obese cooks, and is meeting with an obese Senator (married to an obese husband with an affinity for hookers) on fighting obesity.

2) The fact that you can cook has absolutely zero to do with your knowledge of nutrition, if any.
