Ah Microsoft…..You Make It Too Easy

According to an article in The Register, Windows 7, Microsoft’s newest version of their operating system, is plagued with a 17-year-old vulnerability.

That’s right. 17 YEARS!

Apparently, there is still a feature in the Virtual DOS machine, which was introduced in 1993 with Windows NT, that will allow an unprivileged user to inject code oh his choosing into the system’s kernel, making it possible to make changes to highly sensitive parts of the operating system.

This exploit exists in all versions of Microsoft OSes released since 1993.

That is some cracker-jack work there Microsoft!

Keep up the good work! (now, where is that sarcasm mark?)
