A couple of teenagers learned just how difficult it can be to operate a stick-shift transmission Saturday morning.

Police quickly found a stolen purple Ford Explorer early Saturday when police noticed a similar-looking SUV lurching back and forth near Academy Boulevard and Platte Avenue in Colorado Springs.

When police tried pulling over the SUV, two teens inside the vehicle tried running away. They were quickly caught.

Police later learned the teens did not know how to operate a stickshift. The teens’ names have not been released.

Here’s a little tip.

If you are stealing a car, knowing how to drive it is a good thing.
